Managers of nonprofit organizations (NPOs) generally are not skilled in financial matters. Or, managers are often preoccupied with its welfare objectives and fund raising and ignore the operations efficiency and operating cost controls.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- List and describe the characteristics of nonprofit organizations
- Define the goals of financial management in nonprofit organization
- Clarify and classify the characteristics of for-profit and non-profit
- Explain the role of investors and contributors
- Compare and evaluate assets and liabilities/revenues and expenses
- State the need for more sound information systems
- Give examples of cost concepts
- Perform break-even and cost-volume-revenue analysis
