Excel worksheets and workbooks are very commonly considered “number crunching” tools. The focus of many users is getting data into a worksheet, performing some calculations and arriving at an answer as quickly as possible. This mindset, while prevalent, ignores many of the real goals and needed controls over worksheets that make them decision useful tools.
